Thank You, Parents!

As you’re watching your child grow in tennis, you’ve probably noticed how much the game demands—not just technically, physically, and strategically, but also mentally. While rankings and tournament results are exciting milestones that most likely will come, there’s something even more powerful that fuels long-term success: a love for the game and a mindset built for growth.

You may have noticed my training philosophy with this age group focuses on development through intrinsic motivation. Without a doubt, intrinsic motivation fuels lasting growth because athletes who play for personal mastery and love of the game—not just rankings—show greater resilience, focus, and long-term success, as supported by decades of sports psychology research. This isn’t just about feeling good. It’s about building athletes who learn how to:

  • Stay focused under pressure
  • Bounce back from mistakes
  • Trust their training, even if results are not immediate
  • Compete with faith and heart, not fear
  • Improve faster because they want to, not because they have to

This approach doesn’t ignore competition. It enhances it. When players are mentally prepared and emotionally invested, they compete with clarity and confidence—not just for rankings, but for pride in their performance.

I am privileged to help your child build these skills. You’ll see them chasing goals, entering tournaments, and striving to win—but with a mindset that supports their whole journey, not just the scoreboard. You will also see them having fun being on the court. Having fun while learning keeps curiosity alive, builds confidence, and makes growth feel exciting instead of stressful.

Thank you for being supportive and a huge part of their growth. Together, we’re building not just strong players—but strong individuals prepared for life!
